Just me or daghan kaayo mga bata around Pick Up Coffee downtown nga grabe ka persistent mangayo?
I was at Pick Up Coffee downtown earlier with my cousin. We were literally just sitting there minding our own business on a call with our other cousin, who wasn't able to make it, when this group of 3 boys suddenly came up to us asking for money, our drinks, and to buy their towels.
At first we said no politely because we don't carry cash so we had nothing to give them. Still, they literally WOULD NOT leave our table even when i showed them my empty ahh purse😭 They kept talking over each other and throwing insults at us to the point nga we couldn’t even understand what they were saying anymore because all three were speaking at once.
Na-pressure nalang gyud ko because they clearly weren’t going away, so I just gave one of them my half-finished drink para mahuman nalang. But while they were leaving, they were still insulting my cousin’s appearance and saying she had a “bad personality” because she didn’t give them her drink ??
Then not even 10 minutes later, naa napud little girl going around with a noodle cup asking every table for money. She’d leave other tables immediately when they said no (probably because mostly men pud ang naa and she looked super young, like not even 10, so I get why she wouldn’t linger around them). But when she got to our table, she literally just stood there staring at my cousin for a solid 5 minutes because we had nothing to give😭 She really would not take no for an answer.
And honestly, before anyone says anything bad, I genuinely DO feel bad for them. I know life is hard, especially for kids who are probably out there the whole day trying to earn money instead of just being kids. I can’t even imagine how difficult their situation must be, and I understand they don't have much control in their situation.
But at the same time, I hope people also understand nga it can feel really intimidating and overwhelming when people won’t leave you alone, keep pressuring you after you already said no, or start insulting you personally just because you can’t give anything.
