DIY deck rebuild… how did I do?
This was my first time taking on something of this size… and I have three young kiddos so it was mostly a nights and weekends project. Decking and fascia is VG Douglas Fir. Skirting and the stringer fascia is cedar (lumber yard I used didn’t have a 1x12 of the fir). I primed the bottom of all boards with Kilz oil based primer and finished the rest with CATO Natural. I flipped and reused three joists that were in good shape from the old deck.
