Meet Brook the Rook [OC Main]

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on this OC for quite a while (some of you may have already seen bits of his development over on the BlunchCrunch Discord) and I finally wanted to share him here properly. Meet Brook Castelan, the Rook Toon.

Brook slides into Gardenview with a smooth New Jersey Italian accent, a strategic mind, and a calm presence of someone who’s always several moves ahead, though socially, he has a habit of taking things a little too literally (cause he's a Rook, get it?).

I wanted him to feel like a natural addition to the Main cast while keeping his design simple, readable, and recognizable through silhouette and color palette. His white-coded design and educational purpose in Gardenview also helps him contrast with the rest of the cast.

His personality and design are pretty locked in, but his gameplay and stats still need refining, so I’d love feedback there. Since Brook is a strategist, I thought an ability tied to Intermission/Elevator break would fit naturally (and unique). He is very friendly, and has a somewhat parental/mentor-like relationship with Brusha, which inspired his stats and ability with ties into a possible "skill-check rework concept" I’ve been brainstorming. The effects of his ability would apply for every player, so teamwork and precision is encouraged. Right now, he is essentially a survivalist, with a useful ability, (basically overseeing the run). But I believe he would benefit from something else entirely. His passive just ties into his Rook concept, nothing crazy. Would love to hear your thoughts!

"Once, a faulty cartoon revolved around mafia operations, and now, once again, Brook stands as a product of greed and sketchy favors. His recreation inherited memories that were never his own, haunting him with immense guilt and sorrow. Still, blood (or in this case, ichor) always finds its way back."

Twisted design coming soon… along with a possible ARG and deeper lore to uncover, which I’ve been planning for a while now.
