[United States] FCC Covered List - Grounding of State Fleets?
Hi all, two questions.
First, is it still accurate that state drone fleets have been grounded due to December's FCC covered list addition of foreign made drones? My source is this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK31qL40p6I
Second, Can someone explain to me WHY the states' drones are grounded, given they are models that were authorized prior to the FCC's December ruling?
I should add that its my understanding that this is due to governments, agencies, and organizations receiving federal funding. What I'm really trying to figure out is if a US public school can, at this moment, purchase, register, and fly a DJI drone for educational purposes? And if so, would they have to ensure the funding source is not a federal grant?
