Goal to reach coast fire by 40. Am I on track?

My wife (26F) a I (29M) have a goal of reaching coast fire by 40. This doesn’t mean never save again but rather allow us the flexibility of stepping back at work if we so chose or spending more on life experiences, etc.

We currently have around $375k in liquid assets (retirement accounts, brokerage, cash, RSU’s, etc), along with 20% equity in our home. Only debt is a vehicle at 0% interest that we could pay off today if we really wanted to.

Assuming good market conditions some people might argue we’ve already reached coast fire but that seems too aggressive for my liking. Is pulling back by 40 a solid realistic goal? I’m aiming for $2 million liquid by then if things go well.

No kids yet but would like some in the future!

Edit: $230k house hold income. Do our best to save 25%.
