Lady at Walmart thought I was doing drugs in front of her kids and mine… it was insulin
So I’m pregnant and currently taking insulin for gestational diabetes.
I’m standing in Walmart today with my 2 year old, taking my insulin injection and this woman suddenly goes off about how she “doesn’t appreciate me doing drugs in front of her kids.”
I just stared at her for a second and went:
“Ma’am… it’s insulin. I’m diabetic.”
The way her face changed. Immediate panic. She basically speed-walked away before I could even say anything else.
Meanwhile I’m standing there holding my insulin pen like: 🧍♀️
Apparently surviving pregnancy and gestational diabetes is now considered suspicious behavior at Walmart.
Honestly though, if you’re going to publicly shame someone, maybe make sure you actually know what you’re looking at first. Not every injection is drugs. Some of us are just trying to keep our blood sugar from launching into orbit in aisle 7.
Walmart remains undefeated for weird public interactions.
