(The photo above is a flaky pieces of the rock from when i did the gold scratch test)

I found this rock out in borrego springs California today and when and im hoping someone can help me identify it because google is giving mixed answers to me it looks like fools gold or just straight gold but the color seems wrong cause its like a dark copper so im hoping someone who knows more about rocks and such can help me with this 😊
