Bassets with GI issues
Recently my dog has been having some pretty bad GI issues - he’s been having some regurgitation issues for a while, and he had a barium test that showed he had delayed gastric emptying. As a result, he was put on a motility agent and a reflux medication as well as giving him 3 meals a day instead of day in an elevated feeding dish, which has definitely helped his regurgitation.
However, this past weekend he had gastroenteritis and had to stay a night with the emergency vet. He is improving now thankfully, but the vet indicated it was likely an issue that was made worse by his underlying gastric issues, so I am jsut curious if anyone else has dealt with similar or GI issues in general in their bassets, and what you did to help improve your pups quality of life?
