Hello all! I got a call back from my clinic about my bottom surgery referral and got my initial consult booked.
Getting simple release, no UL, no vnectomy feels like the right surgery for me if I get one. I have some trauma from a previous surgery, and although STP would be nice I don't think I could stand the intense anxiety about complications that I've developed. My bottom dysphoria is pretty mild usually.
My priorities: Full sensation, good erection quality, masculine appearance, and possible penetration. Less labia being visible, more freedom of movement for my penis.
My concerns: Recovery time + anxiety, travel (5 hour flight, but same country). Possible complications, 5 hours away from my clinic. Burden on my family (I am a terrible patient). Self-employed so no PTO.
It feels like a "now or never" situation, my wait was 4 years long and politics are getting worse, so I'm worried my government may stop covering bottom surgery and/or if I change my mind I'll have to wait another 4 years.
Based on my situation, I was wondering what kind of questions you may recommend me to ask myself, or ask at my consultation? I'm certainly warming up to the idea of getting meta, but I have bounced around from wanting phallo, meta, and nothing at all for the entire 4 years I've been waiting, so I'm not confident in my feelings about it. If I could learn some more relevant terminology, that'd be great too, as I only know the basics and don't fully understand all my options (I've read about different ligaments/tendons? Not sure if simple release will leave my labia majora the same as it is now?).
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
