I started on birth control pills about two years ago, after trying the Nexplanon and Nuva ring and having bad side effects. The pill has been great for me, no side effects and no painful periods, but the past three months my periods have started to be painful like they were when I wasn’t on birth control. I’ve had to start using a heating pad and taking midol again, and my period has been heavy as well. What might the cause of this be? Is the birth control not effective anymore?
