Month Long European Destination for Family with small Kids suggestions

Hey All,

I'm starting to work towards a destination for my families 2027 summer trip. We tend to go somewhere for the entire month of June, and have a singular home base. This year we are going to Camden, Maine and we did Boulder last year. We are thinking about going to Europe next year, and I'm looking for suggestions. We like to be in smaller towns, but close enough (hour or two) to a secondary or tertiary city that we can pop in for a day.

I've thought about Girona, San Sebastian, Annecy, Umbria or Innsbruck. Our kids will be 5,8, and 10, and we all love to be outside. So hiking/beach/lake for the entire month is what im envisioning.

Has anyone done something similar with kids, or have any suggestions?
