A Small Rant About Capitulation
There must be some way to make capitulation sensical, rewarding, and alltogether less hideous than it currently is. I understand that "give it to the participant with the highest war score" seems like a great idea, but it gets really wierd, really quickly.
In my latest game, I joined the war in '41 as the US, focused on knocking Japan out first, and then turned to Europe. Its now late October '44, and Patton is outside the gates of Vienna, Prague is liberated, and 3AD is doing a thunder run through East Prussia that would have made David Perkins salivate. Meanwhile, the Soviets have just captured Riga, are across the river from Dnipropetrovsk, and are (generously) 130 miles from both Kyiv and the nearest German core territory. And yet they end up as the occupying force for Kiel, Vienna, and that tile south of Frankfurt that I never got around to?
In the grand scheme of things its a minor problem, but its more than a little frustrating in the moment.
