I was watching some clips from iconic pop artists, even ones from the 80s and it is so obvious that they’re just playing the studio recording and lip syncing and it isn’t really a hidden thing either.

But why would you pay to see some person you can’t interact with pretend to sing some songs, where’s the authenticity?

I haven’t seen too much live music, but it’s the fact that you aren’t hearing the studio versions of songs that makes it enjoyable to see, there’ll be mistakes and it’ll sound different, but isn’t that the point?

I don’t really get why people fork out hundreds and sometimes thousands just to see an artist they like pretend to perform
