basically today at school me and my friend were in a toilet cubicle and there’s a gap at the bottom of the door. some girls in the next cubicle started kicking at us and banging on the door so it was getting uncomfortable. my friend put her phone under the gap to see who it was, and ended up recording a short video just to show what was happening because we were being disturbed. after that i got pulled out of class with all my stuff and taken to an office where they accused us of taking indecent pictures of students. at first i said i didn’t have my phone but then i was honest and said i did. they said they needed to search it, i didn’t feel comfortable so i refused at first, then my nan came in and they searched it properly. there were no indecent or inappropriate pictures at all, just the video of the girls kicking under the cubicle.
even though nothing was found, the deputy head excluded me and said i’m not allowed to go to prom. i understand i shouldn’t have filmed in the toilet, but i was reacting to being kicked and nothing inappropriate was on my phone. what’s also confusing is my head of year has apparently told my friend’s parents two completely different versions of what happened, so now we don’t even know what the school actually thinks happened. does this seem fair or way too extreme?
