I've posted a couple times over the past couple of weeks about a new mass that was picked up during my annual routine mammo/us appt - it was about 0.9 cm, hypoechoic and hypervascular (the part that freaked me out most). I couldn't get an appt for a biopsy till about 2 weeks later, but I had it done this past Monday and just got the results an hour ago. BENIGN! It is pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH), which is just an overgrowth of stromal tissue and nothing to be concerned about, according to my doctor. She just wants to see me in 6 months for a follow up u/s and check in (I'm high risk due to an ADH diagnosis a few years ago), but said there might not even be a need for a breast MRI at that point. I am just so, SO relieved after weeks of anxiety and fearing the worst.
To anyone who is in the middle of the agonizing wait -- keep the faith and know that it is very likely that all can and will be well! I posted the characteristics of my mass in the title bc it had some scary hallmarks but turned out be nothing to worry about. Sending my best wishes to every one of you because I know how hard this is. 🙏🏾✨❤️
