that's completely unreasonable. I've been noticing a lot of job advertisements lately, and the starting salaries for new graduates are unusually low. Many places offer salaries in the range of 32 to 38 thousand, which, when you think about it, is barely different from what graduates were earning in 2004.
For a very long time, I truly believed in the idea of being a 'loyal' employee. I used to stay after 6 PM, take on my colleagues' work, and always said 'yes' to anything thrown my way. I thought this meant I was a good employee.
All I saw was the laid-back people getting raises and the talkers being the ones no one could challenge. In contrast, the one time I pushed back on an unreasonable deadline, suddenly I was the one with an 'attitude problem'.
Companies don't want your loyalty; they just want your compliance.
The moment you stop being the person who sacrifices their nights and weekends, they will replace you without a second thought. There is no reward waiting for you at the end for all your sacrifices.
Your job is not your family. Your dedication will not protect you. You have to look out for yourself, first and always.
If you're grinding yourself to the bone at work thinking the company will eventually reward you for your dedication, please stop. It's not going to happen.
What was the final straw for you? When did you finally realize that loyalty at work is just a scam?
Edit : first learn to say no and that not make you less helpful
second : as you work hard in your work days also chill hard in your off days
third: it is not shame to leave your job to find more flexibility in your working hours and its so easy now with remote work and you what also easy now answering interviews with ai tools like interviewman so never be hard on yourself !
