Did I accidentally stumble into a decent thrift store find? Japanese cast iron skillet for $12 CAD

Found this little Japanese skillet at a thrift store for $12 CAD and couldn’t leave it behind.

Marked “Oval Fry Komin - Made in Japan” on the bottom. Smooth surface, sits flat, no cracks, and lighter than most of my other pans.

I restore a lot of used cast iron and usually end up gifting pieces to friends and family instead of collecting them, but I don’t come across Japanese pans very often.

Anybody know much about these? Good find or just a nice daily user?
