this happened a while ago but still don’t know the reason. also can’t find much online that sounds like what i experienced.

so a while ago i was sitting at work and suddenly felt very lightheaded with a fullness in one ear. i also felt very sweaty, almost like a cold sweat, and felt tingly all over, almost floating (similar to being high is how i would describe the body tingles). i felt dizzy but not “the room is spinning” kind of dizzy, just extremely disoriented. i had tunnel vision, as if my eyes couldn’t fully focus on what i was seeing, and felt slowed down in my head, like i wasn’t fully “there.” i tried to brush it off and continued my work, i could fully still talk, walk, etc, but it was difficult to maintain my composure because it was such a severe feeling, like being RIGHT on the verge of passing out for an hour straight. i felt a sense of something being really really wrong. i ate lunch hoping i was just hungry (this was about 12pm and i hadn’t had anything other than coffee and water all morning, but that is very typical for me so i don’t think it is the cause) but it made no difference. this lasted for about an hour before i left work and went to urgent care. by the time i got there i felt normal again, but still a bit fatigued and confused about what had happened.

my heart rate was very high, but everything else was normal. they say it was likely anxiety or POTS, but to come back if things worsened. i felt like neither of these made sense because i wasn’t stressed or anxious at all when it happened, and i was sitting down and hadn’t made any sudden movements.

two days later the exact same thing happened again, but without the fullness in the ear. i was sitting when it happened once again. lasted maybe 30-40 minutes, i left work again, went back to urgent care, they did an EKG, totally normal. heart rate was fine this time. they said probably anxiety again. maybe something with blood sugar but they were doubtful. they said i could go to a specialist but i didn’t want to pay if it really was just anxiety.

i almost felt it coming on again a few days later, also at work, but it was much less intense and went away within minutes. since then, several months have passed and it hasn’t happened again. does anyone have any idea what this could have been? i’m not super concerned since it seems to have “gone away” but just really confused and curious. i have no other known health problems and it was a very strange feeling that i can barely describe. in the past i’ve had panic attacks, intense anxiety, have fainted before, and get migraines regularly, but i have never felt something like this before.

i went through invisalign (or the generic version at least) from 2021-2023. i’m going to be honest—i wasn’t great about wearing the trays all the time or 22 out of 24 hours or whatever they suggest. they hurt BAD, gave me migraines, made me lose sleep, and i would get so irritated sometimes i would take them out for a few hours to get some relief. i had to be rescanned so so so many times and i honestly think my dentist got sick of me because my journey was supposed to take 9ish months and ended up taking two years. anyway, when i finished and got my retainer, it didn’t fit correctly and kept me from sleeping. i planned to ask for a new rescan and new retainer, but i literally graduated college, got married, and moved out of state all during that year so things got crazy. being out of state also meant i couldn’t go back to that dentist easily. long story short i haven’t worn my retainer in about 2 years and my teeth are almost as crooked as they were when i started. i still have all my trays stuffed in the baggies… would it be really stupid to try to clean them and start rewearing with the one that closest fits my current teeth? or do i need to face consequences of my laziness and pay to go through that awful process again? will i get a disease or something from three year old saliva sitting in the trays? any advice appreciated lol
