Hello all, we had a huge rain storm last night. Woke up to this guy in my yard. I live on a lake. He’s about 100 yards through soft grass from the lakeshore.
But 200 yards across the main road is a huge swamp/wetland.
I’m not sure if he came from the swamp or lake.

My concern is if he came from the swamp, getting back across the road safely. I want to help him get across the road but only if that’s where he came from. (He seems to be crawling in the direction of the swamp) Id hate to take him to the swamp if he came from the lake. It has also been extremely hot here so I don’t want him to get stuck too far from water. (80-90 every day and very dry)

Am I overthinking this? Should I just leave him be?
