Change of Duty Station
Anyone had one approved or know of anyone who’s had one approved?

Curious if anyone at HHS/FDA have recent experience with duty station changes or remote work exceptions under the updated RTO/ 2025 OPM telework policies.
General situation:
- Originally hired as a remote employee
- Currently reporting to an HHS/FDA facility within 50 miles to meet RTO expectations
- Looking to relocate to another state, which was the plan prior to RTO.
- Intend to report to a local office in new state
Looking to understand:
- Have anyone seen duty station change requests approved or denied in similar situations?
- What factors seemed to matter most (e.g., role portability, mission needs, leadership support, hardship, family planning (marriage, child birth)?
- Any lessons learned going through the review process?
Not looking for anything sensitive, just trying to get a general sense of how these are being handled in practice.
Appreciate any insights.
