Students don't open their University Emails but I have an idea
Hi all — first ever Reddit post (whoop whoop!).
I currently work at a university and I’m passionate about making sure students get a good experience, especially considering how much they invest in tuition fees.
One thing I’ve noticed is that many students say they don’t check their emails regularly. Honestly, I understand why — when I came out of college, nobody really taught me how to manage email communication properly either. The bigger challenge now seems to be that students are constantly on their phones and traditional emails still often go unread.
A lot of universities have introduced digital signage in building entrances and hallways, but from what I’ve seen it’s often quite sporadic, placed in the wrong locations, too small, or filled with content that isn’t very student-friendly.
I genuinely believe that if universities used digital screens more effectively — with content students actually want to see, displayed in the right places, and presented in a quick, easy-to-digest format — student engagement could improve significantly.
Do you agree with that? And what kind of content would you personally want to see on these screens?
Please be kind.
