Hello I recently bought an IPod thinking I could repair it but I can't identify the issue it behaves weirdly :/

With its original HDD I managed to use the IPod (listening to its previous owner music etc) but anytime I would write data to it (restore it via iTunes, install rockbox...) it stops working. It simply does not write the data in it.

So I changed it to a flash SSD mod I used on my 3rd gen but it did the same issue ? I thought the HDD was the cause of this but I cannot identify what else it could be. Maybe the ribbon cable ?
