Holly, Chris Angel, and the season 5 of it all….
So listening to the season 5 podcasts now, something is really starting to bug me. I watched GND religiously as a teenager and it’s been years since I rewatched season 5 but I remember there being SO many Chris Angel Easter Eggs.
For example: for Mardi Gras doesn’t Holly dress up as Chris Angel for the night out? She has like black clip in extensions in her hair (to look like highlights), and a jacket that opens up to have card tricks and stuff inside like a magician. Like handcuffs, and I have a vivid memory of Holly asking Bridget “is that your card?” and she does it really badly lol. I also remember they did another photo shoot for the magazine in season 5, I think it’s their last time. And Holly’s is like all magician themed (when she had zero interest in that stuff before). She is trapped under water with chains all around her and for someone to find a key (like a magician’s assistant in a tank) and I think there was something else but I can’t remember now but idk the point is there was a TON of Chris Angel Easter eggs throughout season 5, put in there by Holly. I think she also wears a lot more black and his merch throughout in general.
Which I mean is fine if that’s what she wanted to do. But idk now for season 5 they never address it. Or just barely in true Holly fashion where she thinks everything is a big secret, and Bridget has to guess “Chris?” Under her breath when that comes up, even when it’s so obvious. 🙄😆
Idk I say all this because, every season 5 rewatch podcast they have to talk about the order of the episodes. The discussion of, “if they were in order people would have seen it coming. And I think people were confused because they are aired out of order.” Referring to Hef’s and Holly’s break up. But elephant in the room, does anyone remember thinking at that time, in 2008 that HOLLY WAS DATING CHRIS ANGEL. Lol since the seasons are delayed obviously for editing from when it was filmed. I remeber as a teen watching that season being like oh, she is with Chris Angel now.
But idk that is never addressed. I mean I’m sure marriage fertility all that lead up to the break up. But you could also tell Holly was OBSESSED with Chris Angel. Idk maybe this is for a different thread, but you can tell Holly gets obsessed over the guy she is dating because all their interests suddenly become her interests. Like magic and wearing black 😆. In that case.
I mean unless the editing was to show more and more Chris Angel stuff at the end, but I remember it being pretty heavy at moments. I wonder if Holly will address all of, or if any of that….I mean in true Holly fashion she down plays it and will probably say that has nothing to do with it or that Chris was the one that put her up to all of it lol.
But I’m like girl, you were obsesseddddd. Not saying he wasn’t shitty or what not. But they always talk about “in season 5 no one saw the break up coming…” And it’s like I mean I did because you were with CHRIS ANGEL 😆(I mean also Hef was 85 years old, producers kissing Hef’s ass were shocked, normal people may have been surprised but also like yeah, checks out lol)
TLDR; IS it really that confusing they broke up in season 5 when Chris Angel was in the picture? And does anyone remember the Mardi Gras Chris Angel costume and under water photo shoot as Chris Easter eggs 😅 and how will this be addressed by Holly 😅 (if really at all if we are being honest).
