Is having students address you as Miss (insert first name here) unprofessional?

I have been substituting at the same elementary school for over 2 years. Because my last name is easily and frequently mispronounced, I have the kids call me Miss Megan. (My first name). Recently, students were told by their teacher that calling me Miss Megan is disrespectful and that they should refer to me as Ms. (Last name). I had never even considered this. The only person that calls me by my last name is the principal of the school and she pronounces it incorrectly. I am assuming she doesn't agree with the students calling me Miss Megan, either. All of the students know me as Miss Megan, it would be very hard to change it now. Also worth mentioning, there is a para in our school that goes by "Ms. Ashley." Another goes by "Mrs. JoJo." They are both Kindergarten paras. Another para told me she wanted to go by her first name when she first started and they wouldn't let her (granted, that was 17 years ago). Also worth mentioning, I do not allow the students to refer to me as just "Megan."
What is your opinion on this? Thank you guys. God speed.
