Need financial advice

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some grounded financial advice before making a major life decision.

Profile:
32M, working as an engineer in IT
Currently single, no immediate/ no plans at all for marriage
Supporting fully dependent parents

Income:
In-hand salary: ₹2.9L/month

Current Assets:
Savings account: ₹55L
Mutual funds & stocks: ₹12L
Real estate: ₹10L (EMI ₹7,500/month, ~8 years remaining, ~₹7.5L outstanding)
PF: ₹3L
FD: ₹2.5L
(No own house or ancestral property)

Monthly Expenses:
Personal (Bangalore): ₹35K
Parents: ₹15K
EMI: ₹7.5K
Total - 60k/month

Situation:
I’ve been seriously considering switching careers to filmmaking. I’m a beginner, currently learning and exploring, but I know this is a long and uncertain path with potentially no stable income for a while.
Also, I feel like I’m becoming less relevant in my current IT role since I’m not keeping up with AI and other trends.

Question:
How do I manage my finances going forward if I take this step into shifting my career next year or in 2 years?

My dilemma:
Should I quit my job in a year and pursue filmmaking full-time?
Or try balancing both for a few years?
From a financial standpoint, how should I structure my investments or savings to support this transition?
Do I have enough runway to take this risk given my responsibilities?
I’m not chasing instant success, but I want to make a realistic and responsible decision.
Would really appreciate insights, especially from those who’ve taken unconventional career paths or planned early retirement / career breaks.
Thanks in advance!
