Biopsy done, now we wait.
I had my breast biopsy done today. When I was referred- I was told I had heterogeneous microcalcifications at 3 o'clock, and focal asymmetry below the nipple they wanted to stereotatic biopsy. Today when I arrived they wanted to rerun the scans, so we did a fresh mammogram and new US. The radiologist looked them over and changed the plans. Instead we did a ultrasound guided mammogram and he sampled my 'retroareolar: a small cluster of cysts within echogenic tissue without increased vascularity or shadowing- measures 0.5x0.4x0.2 cm' which was not an area of concern to the other radiologist, and not listed as needing a biopsy.
Im just confused. Are all three finding linked? If so, why would one radiologist want 2 things sampled, and not be concerned about the third, yet another see it so differently? And now I'm afraid I'll be going in again for another biopsy
