Sleep apnea?
I just got diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea, after suspecting my sleep wasn’t great for sometime. I’m wondering how many other folks with PE’s have sleep apnea. From literature I’ve read it sounds like it’s definitely a risk factor.
My first PE was incidental identification and it was asymptomatic and the only risk factor or anyone could identify was birth control. After I stopped birth control and after reduced eliquis I had potentially another PE (with minor symptoms) when traveling although it wasn’t fully diagnosed due to the scans not being as great or the PE being potentially small (they did no dimer test). I have no genetic clotting factors (that have been identified).
It makes me feel excited to know there could be a reason for my PE’s beyond birth control (it in addition to), but I wonder how other folks have experienced this possible connection?
