ICCU failure after 1 year and 9000 miles (UK)

Hi guys,

Happy Sunday. So on Wednesday I was just going about my day in the extreme temperatures we’ve been having in the UK recently (35 degrees ish I think it was) when I received the
warning of doom. As you can see the car is just shy of 9000 miles. Mine is a 2025 5N registered last June.

Credit to Hyundai Roadside - they sent someone within 30 minutes of calling and he topped up the 12V to give it enough juice to drive to the dealers. He followed me in. This was at 4pm and then by the following day the dealer franchise had arranged a replacement car for me. This is a brand new 2026 Ioniq 5 N-LINE AWD 325PS. It’s a good car. I do miss not having ventilated seats, the vision roof, heads up display, and all-round cameras, but at least it has electric seats! It’s also pretty quick and a little more relaxing to drive with smaller wheels. But for £53,000 on the road I don’t think it’s worth getting this trim. I would go for the N Line S if I wanted a normal 5, but personally I think the N with the vision roof and twice the power is pretty good value at £67,000.

So, I just wondered how many more of you (especially in the UK) have had this issue? How long have you had to wait for the repair to be completed? Mine has gone into the Holdcroft dealer franchise which is local and Cheshire based.

Interestingly my lease is up next year so by Christmas time I was hoping to order a Genesis GV60 Magma but I do wonder if that will also be plagued by ICCU troubles. Is the issue really fixed now? Apparently 2022-25 model year cars were the ones affected.

And for the record, I do really love this car, and I can’t wait to have it back. It’s just immense, turns heads everywhere, and due to the coverage it has got from motoring journalists, no one seems to want to try anything when you’re out on the road. Just a couple of weeks ago I had a Mercedes AMG A45S behind me and when we stopped at the lights, they pulled in behind me instead of going into the next lane. That was a little amusing. The only slight annoyance is that I’m already on my 2nd set of tyres (they were replaced 2500 miles ago) and may need another set before it goes back. But at 2235kg and with 650hp, that’s always going to happen. BMW M5 G90 owners are reporting similar wear and inevitably the new Audi RS5 is going to suffer from it as well.
