My playing feels empty!
I'm a pianist of 15 years (professionally 8), and I've primarily been playing 70s/80s music (America, Eagles, Wonder, Doobie Brothers, etc). No matter how many different arrangements I find, very rarely do I find one that is just like the recording; all the solos, little flavors, bass.
It makes sense as to why things feel empty in theory, since there's only so much you can do on a single instrument like piano, but I always feel like there's something missing. If I had to guess, it would be that there is no real percussion or beat behind my music that consistently carries it along.
If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do to make my sound feel "fuller" I would absolutely appreciate it! 🙏
