IDFC FIRST ccs:
1. Movie Offer Devaluation
The "Buy 1 Get 1" (BOGO) movie offer is now more difficult to access.
New Spend Requirement: You must now spend ₹20,000 or more in the previous calendar month to unlock the BOGO benefit for the following month.
2. Reward Points Devaluation
While the move to "10X from the first transaction" (earlier unlocked after 20k spends) for specific categories sounds like an upgrade, other structural changes reduce the overall value:
Lower Earning Rate (Base Revision): The reward earning base is changing from ₹150 to ₹200 per point.
Introduction of Expiry: IDFC points were famous for having "no expiry". This update introduces a 24-month validity period. Points earned from July 2026 onwards, as well as your existing balance, will now expire if not used within two years.
Category Exclusions: Spends on insurance, utilities, railways, and FASTag are restricted to 1X rewardsand no longer count toward the 10X milestone calculation on some card variants.
I am mad about the movie offer 😕
