Are any of you doing any programs or internships in the fall?

Hi. Since summer is almost over, I’ve been looking for opportunities in the fall, but I’m struggling to find some. Do any of you have any programs or internships coming up in the fall? If so, which ones? I’d love to gain an idea of what everyone else is doing, hopefully I’ll be able to find atleast one thing to do over the fall

Day 2 of looking for students to join the founding team of my language mentor program - No Experience Needed

Hey everyone! I’m a rising high school sophomore launching a student-led language nonprofit initiative called LinguaRise, and I'm looking for a few dependable people to join the founding team from the ground up. Here are the quick details on what we're doing and who we need:

The Mission: We focus on language accessibility and cultural connection. LinguaRise pairs language learners with volunteer mentors for free conversational practice. I'm especially passionate about including underrepresented, overlooked languages that standard apps ignore.

Why it’s personal: I moved between India and the U.S. growing up, lost my confidence speaking Hindi, and faced a lot of frustration and teasing because of that language barrier. I’m building this so other students don't have to experience that same loss of confidence. I'm not doing this to pad a college resume; I want to create genuine impact, even if we start by helping just 10 kids. Let me know if you want more info.

Open Roles: I need a Vice President (to act as my right-hand person for planning, strategy, and big problem-solving) and a Marketing & Outreach Lead (someone who gets TikTok/Instagram trends and wants to build our online community). Let me know if you want more info because both these roles have changing responsibilities due to us just starting out, and it is a big commitment.

Commitment & Cost: Completely free. Time commitment is flexible and varies by role, but expect a highly collaborative environment where we figure things out together.

Who should apply: Reliable high schoolers who are creative, willing to learn, and actually care about the mission. No perfect resumes or prior professional experience needed.

How to connect: Apply here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSexD3DH6bnLzLPF460HQ5NVKECoPJKPIKsGeKEsSgVL8ah2UA/viewform?usp=publish-editor

Day 1 of looking for students to join the founding team for my language tutoring program

Hi everyone, my name is Aadi, and I’m a rising high school sophomore currently building a student-led nonprofit initiative called LinguaRise.

1. Why Did I Start This?

Before explaining what I’m looking for, I want to explain why I started this.

Growing up, language was always complicated for me.

I was born in India and spoke Hindi at home. When I was six, I moved to the United States. My family initially worried that I would struggle to learn English, but over time I adapted so well that English became my strongest language. The problem was that I slowly lost my confidence in Hindi. I could still understand it, but speaking, reading, and writing became much harder.

When I moved back to India at nine years old, I realized how much of an impact that had. A language that was supposed to feel familiar suddenly became a barrier. I could understand conversations, but I wasn’t confident enough to participate. I made grammar mistakes, struggled to express myself the way I wanted, and was often teased by my peers because of it.

Over time, this affected my confidence and made communicating feel much harder than it should have been. I started feeling like a part of my own culture was becoming harder for me to access, even though I had grown up with that language around me. When I looked for ways to improve, I found that many options were either expensive tutors, complicated platforms that were difficult to stay motivated with, or free resources that often focused only on a limited number of languages.

I have improved a lot since then, but I still remember what it felt like to feel limited because of a language barrier. That experience stayed with me.

Many people want to learn languages for cultural connection, family, travel, or personal growth, but finding affordable opportunities to practice with someone who actually speaks that language can be difficult. That is where the idea for LinguaRise came from.

2. What Is This? What Is Our Mission?

LinguaRise is a student-led nonprofit initiative focused on connecting language learners with volunteer language mentors for conversational practice and cultural exchange.

My goal is to create a space where people can learn languages from around the world and where fewer people feel limited because they cannot access language support. I especially want LinguaRise to include languages that are often overlooked, not just the most commonly taught languages. Every language carries stories, cultures, and communities that deserve to be shared.

Because I have moved around so much, I don’t currently have many peers around me who share this same interest and vision. But I don’t want to build this alone.

3. What Am I Looking For?

I am currently looking for a few reliable students who are interested in joining the founding team and helping build LinguaRise from the beginning.

🚀 Vice President — Founding Team Member

I’m looking for someone who :

  • wants to help shape the direction of the organization
  • enjoys brainstorming ideas and strategies
  • can help with planning, decisions, and problem-solving
  • is reliable and willing to stay committed
  • basically my right-hand person for any situation or problem encountered.

📱 Marketing & Outreach Lead — Founding Team Member

I’m looking for someone who:

  • understands platforms like Instagram and TikTok
  • enjoys creating and brainstorming content ideas
  • understands trends, engagement, and online communities
  • can help grow awareness of LinguaRise

We all will be working very closely together in the beginning. Responsibilities of these roles may vary on the number of people working the same position and may change due to us being a brand new organization with a small team.

Experience is not required. I’m not looking for perfect resumes or someone who only wants a title. I’m looking for people who are creative, dependable, willing to learn, and genuinely interested in building something meaningful.

To be clear, this is a brand-new project. There are no guarantees about how big it will become. There will be challenges, ideas that need to change, and things we will have to figure out along the way.

But if we can help even a small number of people feel more confident communicating, discover a new culture, or overcome a barrier that once limited them, then it will be worth building. By the end of my high school career, I would have much rather impacted only 10 students who are confident in a new language and can speak it well, rather than fifty students who didn't pick up any skills or gain confidence.

My goal is not to pad my resume for college. My goal is to help another student so they never have to experience the same frustration, loss of confidence, and feeling of being limited that I once felt because of a language barrier. You do not need to have the same story as me, but I hope you have some sort of connection to this mission and a genuine desire to help build something meaningful, not just something to add to a resume.

4. Where Do You Apply?

If you’re interested in being part of the founding team, feel free to comment or message me and I will share more information, or simply apply here:
