Hey yall! I have an anxiety question and would like some clarification from some landlords (extra points if you’re in MI)-a few weeks ago, I spotted a mouse in my house. Let my interior cameras run and set up some traps. 2 days passed and I caught one. Saw another, called pest control who was able to come out next day. I did read my lease first and interior pests fall to me, the tenant. Nothing about notification that I read.

So I paid out of pocket for a 4 week plan- they caught 2 more, set up some exterior boxes, and closed up a couple exterior holes that could be entrances. I have seen absolutely zero mice or signs of them since.

I know I’d be late to the game but I don’t want reimbursement nor is it anyone’s fault-I live across the street from a giant field so wasn’t incredibly shocked to see a few mice.

Did I mess up by not telling my LL? Do I tell him now after the fact?

TIA!

ETA-going to send them a text tomorrow morning letting them know what happened and what I’ve done to remedy it! Thanks again☺️
