Boston uniform pickup experience
Today was the first day of uniform pickup in Boston. My pickup time was 12. I showed up at 11:40.
Quickly signed in at accreditation... Had to go to help desk but that was quick. However there was set up for a long que.
Okay so I went for a uniform and accreditation pick up today. It's early days so they're still figuring out the kinks. They did not have enough staff today. I moved through accreditation pretty quickly. But there was definitely a queue up for a much longer line. However I waited half an hour to try on the uniform. 6 fitting rooms were open. 3 for men, 3 for women. Looks like potential capacity for 10 open at one time. One thing to note when it comes to uniform sizing, the calves are pretty tight. I'm a runner and I had to size up in the pants. But had to make a special request to size down for the shorts. Shoe fitting was pretty standard. I wore sandals so they gave me my socks to try on with them. I am definitely going to have to put my orthopedic inserts in them. We don't feel the most supportive.
You keep the specific shoes that you tried on but the uniform is hung up for everyone to try on and you get brand new uniforms Then I had to wait half an hour to get the uniform. They had one person collecting all the stuff for the uniform. They have Coca-Cola products so I was offered a drink. But I went during my lunch break and it ran over my lunch break time and I was starving. I got back to my car with 10 minutes left on my parking time . So that was a little stressful. Everyone was super friendly. And I get it it's only the first day hopefully to get more Volunteers in and they work out the Kinks . It was very exciting to get it and I'm excited to go through and see all the freebie stuff they give as well. Looks like deodorant? They also give a poncho. When I got there they said they didn't have the patches in yet for boston. But then when they checked me out they had the patches so there was some miscommunication going on there for sure. It was really hard to find the location. It's like hidden in his Alcove there's no signage. So if you see the Gap sign it's very close to the Gap sign and this is what the door looks like. There is a doorman letting you in
I used Park whiz to find a parking spot. I still had to pay like $25 to park though
