M5 MacBook Air: 8 core vs 10 core GPU big difference for Final Cut users?
Hi there,
just a simple question for everyone familiar with the MacBook Air and video editing especially in Final Cut Pro. I'm coming from a MacBook Pro 2020 with the M1 chip and 16GB/512GB, so despite being fanless the MacBook Air (also 16GB/512GB)is an upgrade for me anyways. I just don't know how much of a difference the 2 GPU cores could make!? I have the 8 core model here and I'm working with 6K H265 footage on a 4k timeline. Everything is very smooth so far but I'm just wondering if spending 100 extra for the 10 core version would be very beneficial. I'm actually trying to squeeze out as much "bang for the buck" as possible so I would to keep it cheap. But if it's a huge jump (given thermal throttling and what not) I'd be willing to spend the extra money. Thanks in advance.
