Hi,
I was recently laid off while on an O-1B visa and received a three-week severance package, which I signed at the time. A few weeks have passed since then, and I have since come across information suggesting that O-1B sponsors are required to pay for a return ticket for employees who are laid off, something I was not aware of when I signed.
The severance agreement included language stating that all amounts owed to me had been paid in full, but I had no knowledge of this USCIS requirement regarding the return ticket obligation at the time of signing. Does anyone have advice on whether I still have any recourse given that I signed without knowing this? Thanks in advance.
