Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience and see if others have gone through something similar.

I had a booking for May 8–10. I tried to add one more night (May 7), but instead of modifying the booking, the system automatically cancelled my original reservation and created a new one (May 7–10).

Result: I got charged twice.

I contacted Agoda immediately, and they kept telling me “please wait 3–5 minutes” or “we’re checking with the hotel,” but this went on for over 4 days. The issue was that they couldn’t reach the hotel (later I found out they were using an outdated phone number, while I contact to that phone number not working us well then I can find them phone on internet).

I ended up contacting the hotel myself, explained everything, and they agreed to waive the cancellation fee. After I informed Agoda, they finally approved the refund.
Right now, the refund is still being processed and hasn’t reached my bank yet.

Honestly, the whole process was exhausting. It felt like nothing moved until I stepped in and handled the hotel side myself.

So I’m curious:

Is this kind of delay normal with Agoda?
Do they always rely on hotels this much for refunds?
How long did your refund actually take to hit your bank?

Would appreciate hearing your experiences 🙏
