Rocket Mortgage refinance: worth it or are they steering you?

I was looking at refinancing with Rocket Mortgage but then I found out about the class action lawsuit from January 2026. Apparently they've been steering people into higher-cost loans even when better options were available. The rates they advertise seem average at best, not particularly competitive. Plus there are reports of system bugs that mess up payment schedules.

The thing that's bothering me is that I want a smooth refinance process but I'm worried about getting steered into a bad deal. Some people say they had great experiences with specific loan officers. Others talk about how the technology is buggy and unreliable. It's hard to know if this is just normal mortgage industry stuff or if Rocket is actually worse than alternatives.

Has anyone refinanced with them recently and felt good about it? Did you feel pressured into a higher rate? What was the technology experience like did it work smoothly? Would you recommend them or suggest looking elsewhere? How do their rates compare to local lenders? What's your honest experience been?
