It seems to me that many people forget that Postal 1 is a brutal satire

I think this because, in mainstream circles, Postal 1 is usually perceived without its ironic context. For some reason, some people think that RWS originally set out to make a horror game, rather than just a harsh satire, and they miss pretty caricatured details like the weird enemy design where you're fighting rednecks, or, for example, the fact that the Dude is simply a mentally ill person who doesn't see anything horrible in his actions and even believes he's helping humanity.

This thought just keeps spinning in my head whenever I see fan reinterpretations of Postal, or attempts to make sense of the first game where everything is taken very seriously.

I'm just curious if I'm the only one who thinks this way.
