Ashermans Support

Hi everyone. I just wanted to come back on here and say: please trust your gut and advocate for yourself. ❤️

I came on here a while back looking for guidance and support after dealing with a very slow HCG drop, cyclical cramps, and temperature drops — but no bleed for 6 months following a MMC and D&C done in-office under ultrasound guidance with local sedation.

I was becoming increasingly frustrated with my OB, who kept suggesting we “wait and see.” We tried a progesterone challenge that did not trigger a bleed, and then the recommendation was either to try it again or go back on birth control. None of it worked, and eventually I decided to consult a specialist.

That specialist performed a hysteroscopy and found that my cervix was completely scarred shut, there was scarring throughout my uterine cavity, and there was retained pregnancy tissue that had been missed — and then essentially ignored while my HCG slowly declined. I knew in my gut something was wrong.

Thankfully, she was able to restore my uterine cavity.

All of this to say: you know your body best. If something feels wrong, keep pushing for answers. Please advocate for yourself and don’t be afraid to seek a specialist if needed.

I also could not be more thankful for Dr. Rosen and her entire team for helping me through this. After months of feeling dismissed and hopeless, they finally gave me answers, listened to my concerns, and helped restore hope for my future fertility.

This has been the craziest 8 months navigating miscarriage trauma and then all the trauma and fear that followed surrounding my future fertility. I truly hope sharing this helps someone else feel less alone and encourages them to keep searching for answers. ❤️

Hysteroscopy

Hi! I have my hysteroscopy scheduled tomorrow and I’m absolutely terrified to be under general anesthesia. I’m terrified I won’t wake up and then also terrified of waking up to terrible news. Any advice or support is appreciated. 🫶🏼
