SIT Admissions FCFS Basis
i have a suspicion that SIT admissions are on a first come first serve basis behind the scenes. Those who submitted their application first will have a higher chance of getting shortlisted for an interview, and subsequently increasing their chances of receiving an offer.
i submitted my application on 15 Mar, 4 days before the deadline. Did not receive any interview offers or news until today where i got my rejection letter.
i know someone who submitted his application during Feb, received an interview a week later, and an offer during early March. Mind you all this took place during the application period while i was still crafting my application.
Another friend of mine recalled submitting his application early during last year's admissions exercise and managed to receive an interview offer, however he was rejected subsequently. This year he submitted around the same time as me (close to deadline) and didn't receive any interview offers or news (most likely rejected).
My point being that if you submit your application early, you increase your chances of getting an interview, and hopefully an offer subsequently. Submitting your applications close to deadline significantly reduces your chances, as SIT has already shortlisted, interviewed and even accepted some applicants before the application period ends.
