RFE Instructions

Got a medical RFE (missing polio)

Sent in the new sealed document + RFE in a sealed envelope.

Have not heard back now since May 6.

When you guys send your mail in, do you write anything on the outside of the envelope besides address?
Did you guys include RFE, A number, etc? Or just the addresses

Polio RFE + Timeline

Got hit with a RFE for polio during interview.

My doctor checked off "not age appropriate" despite having a record of me receiving polio. Silly mistake on the doctors end. Interview itself went great, was brief and officer let my partner and I know our case was solid but due to the polio situation, an RFE will be issued. Officer mentioned due to this she was unable to approve I-130 (due to polio) but deemed our marriage legitimate without much, if any questioning.

My question is, for anyone who had something like this occur, what was the timeline?

Things were moving reasonably and now it's full radio silence. I haven't even gotten notice that they received my mail. Based on what I am reading from people's experience I am getting anxious I may be waiting for ages. Also a bit worried as my RFE has a deadline of July to respond or case goes void. I have responded but response is not showing up received. Also reached out via emma and it said they dont see my mail as received yet (may 19)

Timeline: (all 2026)

Feb 13 - Applied and sent out package (I-485, I-130, I-765)

Feb 28 - Biometrics scheduled

March 20 - Interview scheduled notice

April 28 - Interview (holtsville)

April 28 - RFE for polio mishap

May 6 - Mail delivered to USCIS (update from post office, not USCIS)

May 19 - I-130 approved
