Elden ring is weird

Elden Ring is weird

Elden ring got so much praise by video game critiques and was also overall positively reviewed by the community.

And I get it: It looks beautiful, the exploration is fun. Miyazaki's story telling is unique. If you know why his storytelling is the way it is, it's getting more interesting.

But playing the game itself straight up is not fun.

I really try to love this game, I'm on my 5th run and tried to get different endings, speak with more NPCs that I missed in my previous run just to get a better insight of the story and the world of elden ring. But it's really such a waste of time imo, I could just safe all of it by just watching a Youtube gameplay or a video essay. The Story itself is so interesting but playing it just doesn't fulfill me with any joy. People say "well what about the beauty of how the environemnt looks" yes i totally get that, the environment looks so beautiful on paper, but I cant catch a breather to actually enjoy it.

Everything feels just so hectic.

I've watched some other youtube videos, where people also criticize the game with their own opinions, but one thing I fully agree on is Dunkey's opinion: The damage Elden Ring boss deal should be lowered.

I bought shadow of the erdtree too now, because I've seen some snippets of those boss fights with Radahn and again it looks so beautiful but I'm stuck now in the first half of the DLC, and I know that when I reach Radahn it will also suck to fight against him (really underestimated the DLC).

I think that the game also does a good job on making the boss fights cinematic without looking too much "Sony"-like, but how do I appreciate it when im getting oneshotted right afterwards? The good thing about is I can rewatch the cinematic move of a boss 50 times again lol.

For me I think I've wasted my 30 bucks now on the DLC when I should've just watched Youtube videos of other people defeating the DLC.

Call me a cuck but I really like how people defeat the game and get all creative with their builds and also the pros that also throw in other challenges.

Is anybody else conflicted with the game? Am I just expecting something else from a video game?

Playing as byz how do you expand into Europe?

Last game it felt like every European nation was allied with each other. Ragusa was allied with Venice, Austria France. Hungary was allied with France, Austria they all had around 75k-110k troops. None of my allies wanted to join my war obviously (was allied to Muscovy Austria and France).

So what do I do in this situation?

Expanding east was also not an option yet. Had a truce with Ottos still so 5 years just nothing. Mamluks were on my borders already in Anatolia but they had too many troops to take them alone.

My ideas were offensive and religious.

I'm not sure why I took offensive. I feel like offensive is a dog shit idea, but I saw it on another reddit post that this would be a good starter idea.

I get a bunch of morale buffs anyways through my missions, wouldnt quantity be the better call here?

Cant change mouse cursor theme with gnome DE

I want to change the mouse cursor in cachyos using GNOME but gnome tweaks doesn't allow me to change it, after I downloaded a custom theme.
Anybody experiencing the same struggle?
Is GNOME just gnoming me?

Edit: Should've mentioned: I Cant select any other mouse cursor theme. There is no dropdown menu for me there. No arrow pointing down. Just standard "adwaita(default)" option.

Most of the times in my byzantium runs i cant really blob properly in europe because of HRE and the allies that would join the war. So you do you dismantle it?
