Ever had to stop while reading?

Hey just started reading a dark web of monsters. Book is brutal, and I’m generally having to stop or skip parts to get through it. I have not had to do that before, but the subject matter really creeps me out and makes me uncomfortable. Was wondering what books do that for you? I generally don’t feel that way when reading extreme lit.

Wrath James White - Rabbit Hunt and Emily

How in any shape or form are these two books related what so ever? I read Emily first, book was an about a cult abducting people and putting them through Barbaric trials for their own personal gain. Rabbit Hunt is about 4 black guys who go out into the woods to rape and torture white people.

The only time Emily acts weird or freaks out is near the end, and they literally kill her and reference her death to loony toons. She isn’t even the main character or a side character for that matter up to that point.

I’m just perplexed he would call Emily a sequel the only similarity is the name for 99% of the book.
