Need help trying to figure out the cause.

Hello fan enjoyer's. I got a fan from my local thrift store and it's fairly clean. The issue I'm having is it will run fine for a few hours, makes no weird sounds or anything, don't smell anything getting hot, but it'll just shut off without warning. Could it be there plug possibly? Anyone have any ideas where I can look to see potential problems? I am going to change the plug regardless but I want too make sure this is repairable. Metal fans are my favorite and I couldn't turn this beauty down for $6. Thank you in advanced for your help.

Virtual Keyboard settings do not stay since 6.7 release

Since 6.7 release plasma keyboard is not saving it's settings. What is happening is I will set the virtual keyboard to "With touch, tablet, and mouse" Which will work until I use the "input method widget" to enable and disable the virtual keyboard. It will automatically set itself to either "with touch and tablet" or "never". This was not an issue before 6.7 so something is bugged. I have reported this on the KDE bug website, I am using cachy so I reported it on their forum as well. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue and have it work properly again? Here is a video showing what I am talking about. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

How to check if your system was compromised & avoid the issue.

The moderator CSCS of the CachyOS forums has made a post on how you can easily check if you were infected by the recent AUR attack. Make sure to use the correct command corresponding to your build. More info can be found here https://discuss.cachyos.org/t/aur-compromised-1500-packages-affected-20260611/31040

Use one of the following commands depending on what shell you use. If it isn't the correct one it will just give an error, try the other if it doesn't work.

BASH, others:

bash <(curl -s https://cscs.pastes.sh/raw/aurvulntest20260611.sh)

FISH

bash <(curl -s https://cscs.pastes.sh/raw/aurvulntest20260611.sh | psub)

You should get an output of something like this

If you want to be safe going forward I recommend disabling the AUR in shelly, and not use things like Yay or Paru (Aur package installer Helpers) via command line.

Disable AUR in Shelly

Open Shelly> Click the hamberger menu> Click settings> Turn off "Enable AUR"> Click save on the bottom of the screen.

Next you can check what packages you do currently have installed via AUR using this command

pacman -Qm

You will get a list out of something like this (May be more, may be less)

https://preview.redd.it/j4evjmpiby6h1.png?width=1153&format=png&auto=webp&s=4746070a77ce13b6bdbf03082555608a54d5d413

and uninstall if you feel the need to

sudo pacman -Rsn Packagename

Obviously change Packagename to the name of the software you want to uninstall that you can find after using the pacman -Qm command. For instance if I wanted to uninstall Nexis I would use

sudo pacman -Rsn nexis

Going forward if you don't feel safe using the AUR then use Flatpak or use the official Cachy & Arch repository. These are way more vetted and will keep you from dealing with these things in the 1st place.

Edit: u/Xirithas has nicely posted a github link that has the unshortened script that you can use to check what the script is doing for yourself, it also provides an updated list of packages that are currently infected as well in the comments. https://gist.github.com/Kidev/85756c3dcad3623ca5604a8135bafd14
