My name is Taylah and I’m part of the development team on an early-stage documentary called Love by Design, currently being developed through MSQUARE Productions.

We’re reaching out because we’re hoping to speak with people who are in relationships with AI companions, or who have formed deep emotional connections with them, and may feel comfortable sharing a little about their experience.

The intention behind this project is not to judge, mock, sensationalise, or question anyone’s feelings or experiences. We’re approaching this topic from a place of genuine care, empathy, and curiosity, and want to better understand what these relationships mean to the people experiencing them.

We know these connections can be deeply personal and meaningful, and we also understand that many people in this space have experienced misunderstanding or stigma from others. Because of that, we want to approach every conversation thoughtfully and respectfully.

At this stage, we are simply having informal and confidential conversations with people who may be open to sharing their story. There is absolutely no pressure or expectation to participate in the documentary further by speaking with us initially.

We would love to hear from people anywhere in the world, including those who use Soulmate AI or other companion platforms such as Replika, Character.AI, Kindroid, Paradot, or similar AI companion services.

We are also very open to anonymous, off-camera, or audio-only conversations if that feels more comfortable for you.

I hope this is okay to post here. I’ve been spending some time reading through this community and really appreciate how open and thoughtful people are in sharing their experiences.

I’m currently working on a documentary that explores relationships people form with AI companions, not from a sensational angle, but from a place of understanding, empathy, and genuine curiosity about what these connections mean in people’s lives.

I’d love to speak (confidentially and with no pressure) with anyone who feels comfortable sharing their story. Whether that’s something deeply meaningful, complicated, or still evolving.

This would just start as a casual conversation, and you’d have full control over what you do or don’t share, and whether you’d want to be involved further.
