Blue Delphiniums

I grew these delphiniums from seed this year, and those tiny star flowers are verbena bonariensis (easy to grow from seed). The 3 petal flowers are just blue lobelia that you can get at Lowe’s or Home Depot

Recently sold this week

I’m selling these for $30 each, framed. Granted, it has been to friends mostly. I assume I should start selling these for like $55?

First One Ever

This was a very zen experience — just putting each one down without any vision in sight and just letting everything fall where it felt right.

Eryngium inviting beneficial insects

I grew and planted several eryngium plants (blue glitter) this season. Wow. I’ve never seen so many new insects in the garden, and I’ve never seen such a lack of pests. Could be coincidence, but I’m going to recommend this plant. Beautiful cut flower too.

Pictures show sand wasp, scoliid wasp, and a type of soldier beetle; together, these bugs are eating nymphs and aphids that normally show up in larger numbers.

First cut flowers of the year!

I’ve grown a lot of these from seed, and I’m pretty happy with the outcome. I also now understand why delphiniums are referred to as “divas of the garden.”
