Uniform alterations... worth the risk? What is the risk?
I tend to be very picky about the way clothes fit me and generally favor comfort over all else. I end up altering an overwhelming majority of my clothes outside of the comfy styles I gravitate towards. Female, short, fat, and hourglass measurements... yeah, I shop for clothes that fit-ish but can be altered to be perfect.
Anyhow...
I initially was thinking of converting the shorts to a skirt but I think that might be a bit too noticeable and cause an issue. Will probably do that afterwards. Or perhaps add a slight taper to the leg. Hmmm.
But... the t-shirts... do yall think minor alterations for a better fit would be okay? Nothing extravagant, but things like shortening the length of the body and sleeves? Little things to help it fit as intended instead of like a short person wearing tall people clothes? Going from way too baggy to a "relaxed" fit?
(For those that might say I should have sized down, I got the size that fits my chest and hips. This means that because of my shape, other parts are left super oversized. For better or worse, this is normal for me)
The website say that any alterations are not allowed but limited services will be provided for those with a disability. I don't fall into the disability category so I would be breaking the rules.
My idea/hope is that I can alter for a better fit and have it go unnoticed. Is there anyone in a role that might have some insight on any aspect of how this could go? I have no idea if there is a part of check in that is uniform inspection or what. Who would be looking for things like that? Would something so minute even be caught?
For note, I am at Fan Fest with split shifts between Media Ops & Hospitality.
Edit: I have been considering altering 1 or 2 of the shirts and having a spare unaltered one with me as a back up. Asking for insight because we all know there is a difference between rules and the enforcement of rules. As mentioned earlier, the intention is to basically switch the pattern from standard sizing to MTO. Keep the same fit of the shirt, just adjust it to my fit my height.
