My recent experience with CapCenter

I closed on a new purchase mortgage with CapCenter in June. As an investor AND FORMER MORTGAGE BROKER, I have extensive lending knowledge.

The pros: low fees and competitive rates! This is great!

The cons: inept employees (namely Chloe and Madeline), horrible communication (specifically with the borrower and, more importantly, internally amongst themselves), and processing times.

Though I had an extended closing date due to my travel schedule, we nearly had to extend the close date. They obviously don’t work on your project based on the date they receive the application. They work on your loan based on the closing date. Consequently, nothing was done with my application for an entire month. It sat untouched while they worked on others. I did not get my “clear to close” until 2 hours before my scheduled closing time. They ignore your emails and phone calls.

All of this adds up to unacceptable unprofessional behavior. Are you listening Chloe and Madeline? Have some self respect and take just a lil bit of pride in your work. If I were still in the biz, these employees would be unemployed with my brokerage. Also, their underwriters require docs that I’ve never heard of any underwriters wanting in my 28 years in the business.

Ask yourself, is it worth it?
