Since 2026 began, I have been hearing people, including some Inter fans, say how Chivu's Inter will fall off just like how Slot's Liverpool did in the second season and how Chivu just rides off of Conte's and Inzaghi's work, like how Slot did from Klopp. My counter argument to that is that Slot was given 400m British pounds to spend after winning the Premier League, meanwhile Chivu has only been given a backup goalkeeper (Provedel), a buyback player (Stankovic), and a free agent (John Stones). I understand that Chivu has a lot of growing to do as a coach, tactically especially, but I just dislike how repetitive this narrative gets and it feels like people just want to take credit away from Chivu and it upsets me when some of our own fans go on with this narrative as well.

I understand that as champions of Italy, we don’t need to add as many players as other teams in Serie A, and I do believe we should still retain Serie A unless disaster happens.

But I cannot help but feel really let down by the club because I really feel like with a solid mercato, we can make strides in Europe, and when I see clubs like Fiorentina spending more than us, it’s a bit deflating.

I apologize for such a post but I really think Inter are wasting a golden opportunity at establishing complete dominance in Italy and becoming much more competitive in Europe on a more consistent basis.

I know this is a very vague post so I apologize for that and I know the summer mercato has been very frustrating as per usual, but I miss screaming at my TV or computer watching Inter play on a weekly basis

Inter have:
Beaten Bayern in the 2010 UCL final
Beat Bayern every time they met in the knockouts
Took Lothar Matthaus from Bayern in his prime and he won the Ballon Dor here
Ended Bayern’s 11 year WC final streak while continuing their 12 year WC final streak

Safe to say the Bavarians aren’t the biggest fans of the Nerazzurri 👀
