Stopping birth control
Hey yall, brief back story. I started birth control back in September in preparation for starting Accutane in January (I needed to wait to start until my insurance changed, stuffs expensive). Upon starting birth control (combo pill), my acne got significantly worse.
Fast forward to now, I’m on my last month and a half of Accutane and my skin has been great, no breakouts for a couple months. Ultimately, I want to get off birth control but am worried that if I stop after a month of being off Accutane (as recommended), that I’m going to start breaking out again. I’m also not sexually active so getting pregnant is a non-issue. I’m tempted to stop birth control now so I’m still on Accutane to fight off any breakouts that might happen. This might be irrational, idk. I am not seeking medical advice, just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience or if I’m missing something. I will talk with my dermatologist as well. Thank youuu
